Message from Jeanne Holmes, Artistic Producer:

Welcome to CDF 2012.

It’s an exciting time to be at the Canada Dance Festival. As we celebrate 25 years of dance in the nation’s capital we mark this auspicious occasion by welcoming an amazing array of talented artists from coast to coast. The work that you will see at this year’s festival is inspired by new growth, shared experience, iconic poets, groundbreaking female role models, junkyards, stories of love, conflict, vulnerability and loss and the amazing physicality of the body moving through space.

There are extraordinary talents in Canada emerging in a new generation of dancers and dancemakers, celebrated in the longevity and commitment of the established and influential creators of our time and energized by the creative spirit of the contemporary artists who call this country home. We welcome you to meet them in Ottawa this June.

See you there
